hot chocolate, part II

there are a million amazing things about living in paris...
the smell of fresh bread abundant,
glimpses of twinkling tour eiffel,
the coffee,
flowery french filling your ears,
walking streets renowned around the world,
tiny, cozy shops,
the history...
it really is magical.

until l'hiver (winter).
cold.  dreary.  cloudy.  drizzley.  no sun to speak of for months...

it's a rought time for a texas girl.  i had never given much thought to how super sunny texas is until i met that grey, grey, greyness day after day after...

but there is this one good thing about cold, grey, blah-blah days.
you can drink as much hot chocolate as you please, with not 1% of guilt.
it's a proven fact.  proven by my life that winter!

this is my recipe.

1 can of sweetened, condensed milk
1/2 c cocoa
1 1/2 t vanilla
pinch sea salt
4 c milk

in lg pan, over md heat combine first 4 ingredients, continuously mixing.  mix until completely combined.  slowly add milk little by little, being sure to fully combine before adding more milk.  stir while hot chocolate heats up.  this can take awhile, so you can adjust the temperature if you want, but DO NOT let it boil.

ENJOY!  i know you will :)

i should mention that this recipe was inspired by the incredible hot chocolate {& lovely girly-ness} of a famous parisian spot called angelina . i very highly recommend the place, especially if you're in paris when it's cold.

its funny you post this. My family traveled to paris when I was young, and one of my few memories was hot chocolate and french bread for breakfast every morning at this little boutique hotel. I'll have to try this recipe!

Kelly I know you posted this forever ago, but I have been meaning to tell you this. You don't know me but I was a K-life kid while Clint was Baylor. I found your blog through Amy Marable and LOVE it! You are so creative! One Christmas a long time ago I was coming home from Auburn and had parked at Amy's house. My car wouldn't start and they were out of town, so they called Clint to come jump my car. He brought this hot chocolate from you and it made my night. Let me tell you, it was not a good night. :) I was so happy when you posted this recipe and made it all Christmas for my family. Your kids are adorable and I have made so many of your projects! Sorry for the random post, but I have been wanted to come out as a "blog stalker". :)
