american idol

okay, so did you catch "shout to the lord" TWICE this week on american idol? what in the world???? clint & i just sat there totally puzzled @ this. we couldn't decide just what we thought. it was just weird.

were the producers trying to drum up some cash from the "willowcreek" crowd, who they thought might download the song? but then again, aren't the proceeds of downloads going to "idol gives back"? i just can't figure this one out, folks! i'd love to think some big shot just wanted to do a song they thought would make a lot of $$ for charity, but that's really a long shot... but maybe it's a first?!

what did you think?

ps - the true tragedy of this week is michael johns going home. you've got to be kidding me! he was one of our favs. sadness.

I'm with you on Michael Johns. I will miss him. Lee and I were pretty amazed at the Shout to the Lord thing too. Pretty cool. I know a lot of people are in a tizzy over the fact that they omitted the name Jesus, but no matter, I think it was a pretty bold thing to do on national television. Very interesting...

I don't know about the song...but I do not get the Michael Johns thing either. Pick on some of the girls, will ya voters?! He was great!!
I love the lyric of the song you wrote about that says something about how things turn to rust but not so the man (Jesus) that he has risen and reigns. Such power!!
You would probably like Nichole Nordeman, too. She has great, deep words. Do you ever listen to her?

That totally did not offend me. I don't even think it was on my radar, but even if it was, I don't find something like that offensive. Sweet of you to mention, though!!
