these aren't ya mama's "throw quilts"!
so my favorites (& dana's!) were the japanese quilts. they were so creative, intricate, innovative... honestly, you would have loved the show. okay, some of you might not have loved me dragging you around the vendor side, but i promise - you'd love the exhibit side!
here are a few pics...
here are dana & i in front of one of our absolute favs (dana - i think this is my #1 fav now). it was japanese cherry blossom trees. i would love a painting of this.
this one looks more like a traditional, applique quilt. in fact, when dana first showed it to me, i wasn't totally impressed - i mean, applique is what i do everyday. BUT when you look really close, the backing of this quilt is an eyelet/lace fabric. one, that's totally nontraditional & creative, and two, it must have been incredibly difficult to sew anything on top of that. it was super cool.
so fun! can't wait for next year! you better make your plans now!

It looks like a lot of fun!
ruth - i can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not... :)!!!
your pink necklace made your whole outfit. It must be from Neiman's or something. Beautiful. :)
yes jen, in fact i happened to acquire that necklace from a fabulous friend that probably bought it at neiman's (or tiffany's - not sure). this friend is so fabulous that i'm sure she will never want it back - she's totally generous that way... :)
yes yes! annalise and the boy will be 18 months apart, it was a 50% surprise when we found out so i was in shock for quite a while. but, everything has been going well and i am half way done! yikes!
it was a 50% surprise because it took me so long to get pregnant the first time that i just thought i wasn't very fertile, but... #2happened the first month of trying!
