crafty gift

hey guys! hope 2009 has been good to you so far. we're ease-ing into the new year over here.
i remembered that i wanted to show you part of our christmas gift to the grandparents this year. it was really fun to do & would be cute for a valentine's gift, or mother's/father's day. you could even do a paw!!!

as you can see, i got those little square canvases (something about the square shape makes them so cute, i think!). you could paint any plain kind of background. as long as it's plain & uses few colors, it will work - solid, stripes, polka, maybe even a simple plaid. then i just painted hudson's hand w/ a foam brush to make the handprint. it really takes 2 of you to get the little handprint right, & i would recommend a trial run or two, as it seems easier than it actually is to get a good print! invest in a good small brush, & it's pretty easy to paint the name & date & voila, you have a fun little gift! you could even staple gun ribbon or twine to the back to hang it with.

more pics...

and it looks cute wrapped...
