target brand "cherokee" tee with sweet neck & sleeve detail.  i usually use {american apparel} tees & onesies, but i don't care for their girls short sleeve tees.  these are thick, a little stretchy & i love the feminine detail.

strawberry weather

2 summers ago, it was watermelons.  i couldn't get over them.  the red, the green, the way they scream "IT'S SUMMER!". 

this year it's strawberries.  LOVE.

i made a shirt for holland last week, which lead me to this pillow.
 i love how it turned out. 
so simple, so cheery.

i'm loving linen lately, too so i made the pillow out of soft, simple linen.
it's a simple, 12x12 envelope pillowcase, requiring any 12x12 pillow to fill it & voila! instant cheery red, loveliness.

ps:  while taking these pictures, hudson quickly pointed out that leaves are supposed to be green.  i hope you don't mind :)

we're still in our pjs will be until we're forced to bundle for the grocery store. it's been a long weekend. my mom & i worked our last christmas show on saturday & then c & i drove to dallas & back last night. craziness.
i did finally have an occasion to wear patterned tights, & that was fun. i grabbed these when we hit dallas & i realized bare legs were not going to work...



well, they were kinda like these.  i can't find the actual ones from target. 
mine were verticle stripes & a little more dressy.

 made me feel fasionable!

i have this problem...

it's called when i have a lot to do, i suddenly find a new project to start on.
it's insanity, i tell you.  insanity.
i think it's also called the creative process.  & my creative process never comes in the form of "start one project, take to completion.  start new project."
 it's more like, "finally decide on kitchen wall paint color.  go to home depot to get color & suddenly decide it would be better on the cabinets.  get cabinet color.  paint ALMOST all cabinets one coat.  get busy with sewing bibs & burp cloths.  suddenly decide i should finish the corduroy a-line dresses i started before holland was born.  dream about a monogramming machine.  figure out how to make legwarmers.  buy felt for an advent calendar & hope i can get to it by christmas."  & on & on.

this explains(read:  this is my excuse for) why in the middle of getting ready for this season of trunk shows, i suddenly found myself playing around with gift tags. 

 they were so super fun to make.

 & i'm forever looking for a tag for gifts as we run out the door for a party.

so nice to have these a few of these...

 

 the mustache makes me crack up everytime.

my mom got hudson some stick on mustaches to play with & they're hilarious.

 so he's kinda into mustaches. so funny.

and of course crowns for the gals...

had to.


i also did tags for grown ups, families, & christmas, but my camera battery died before i could get pics of those. 
the creative process does not include remembering to plug in your camera battery. 
darn.
i'll get pics of those up @ some point.

little drummer boy

this summer hudson started voicing opinions about what he likes (& doesn't like!) to wear. 
lately he's all about the "wife beater" tank top.  awesome.  his favorite outfit is that top with basketball shorts, which makes me think he also needs a gold tennis bracelet & chest hair.  so if you come over, it's likely he'll be in that get up (perhaps with cowboy boots!).
however i do have some standards left & i cannot handle the male tank top in public(i deserve some manner of dignity, don't i?).  born out of a need to NOT get into a brawl everytime we leave the house, we have the drummer shirt...

this boy's happy, which means this mama's happy.

he LOVES this shirt.  no surprise coming from the child that spends hours weekly beating out rhythms, drawing drums in the carpet, listening to any & all music & yelling "do you hear the drums??!!!", & sounding out words like "dave matthews band".  seriously.  this little guy has a love for music.
